Welcome to the FAQ page for Golden Country Motel & Caravan Park in Maryborough! Here, we aim to answer all your questions to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Check-in time for ensuite powered sites is 12 midday.
Check-in time for motels, cabins and villas is at 2 pm. When making your reservation, please feel free to call us on 03 5461 1101 to see if you could check into your room earlier. We will do our best to ensure our team attend to your room as early as we can to facilitate an early check in.
Check out time is 10 am for all accommodation types, ie en-suite sites, motel rooms, cabins and villas. We can arrange a late check out in some instances.
If you are arriving after 6 pm, which is when reception closes, please call reception on 03 5461 1101 to arrange a late check-in.
We will email or text you a park map to show you where your motel / cabin / villa / en-suite site is located and where to park.
We will leave the door unlocked and the key inside. We will leave the light on if arriving after dark and we will turn on the air-conditioner or heater as is appropriate for the season.
Yes we do have on-site parking. We have one vehicle space allocated to each room. Please let us know at the time of making your reservation if you are arriving in more than one vehicle.
We try our best to accommodate any extra vehicle or a trailer, but cannot always do so, especially when the park is fully booked. We may be able to arrange car parking either in our caravan storage area, or the car parking area across the road.
All of our motel rooms, cabins, villas and ensuite site bathrooms are non-smoking. As we continue to promote a pleasant environment for all guests there is to be no smoking in the park owned accommodation and communal facilities. These areas include the swimming pool, camp kitchen, barbecue areas, laundry, TV room, playground and jumping pillow areas.
Please dispose of your butts correctly and sensibly in the ashtrays provided at every motel room, cabin and villas. We will not tolerate littering of cigarette butts. We ask that when smoking outside, please close the door your room so that the smoke does not enter the room.
No we do not have a restaurant but we are located directly opposite the Maryborough Golf Club and bistro. The golf club is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. Remember to take your key tag with you when you order at the Maryborough Golf Club and you will receive a 10% discount on food and beverages because you are one of our customers.
We do not offer room service unless specifically requested.
We do provide filtered water in your room fridge which can be topped up from the camp kitchen. Please ask at reception for the door code. We offer complementary tea coffee, sugar and milk just to get you started. Kindly supplement our complementary offerings with your preferred tea, coffee and milk for your continued enjoyment.
No they are serviced on request.
We are committed to promoting environmental practices. We ask that you commit to these practices with us: please hang up your towels, bathmats and hand towels on the rails and hooks provided. We provide clothes airers for accommodation with greater berths. (4 and above)
We have 4 landfill/rubbish and recycling stations throughout the park. Each station has a bin dedicated to landfill/rubbish, aluminium cans, plastic bottles, glass bottles and paper/cardboard. We feel confident that you will utilise these thoughtfully.
Yes we do have free Wi-Fi across the whole park. The Wi-Fi password is written on your key tag. It is also written on the bottom of each page in the guest compendium.
Yes we have a solar heated pool that is opened seasonally. At the height of summer the pool temperature reaches up to 30°C. Our pool is filled with mineral bore water which is high in natural salts. We use a salt chlorinator to sanitise the pool. It is tested regularly to keep it balanced and clean.
We now have a variable speed pool pump which improves energy efficiency and is much quieter for our guests. In the pool area, there is a toy box with swimming pool toys, such as inflatable swim rings and diving toys for guests to use. Please ensure you return the toys to the toy box so that they do not interfere with the skimmer box or pool cleaner.
Please ensure all guests adhere to the pool rules. Pool towels are available to hire at reception. The pool is locked when the robotic cleaner is in use, when the pool cover is over the pool and during other times. Please ask at reception if the pool can be unlocked.
Yes we do. Outside the camp kitchen is a fully shaded seating area and an undercover large 4 burner barbecue area. Next to the swimming pool and jumping pillow is a fully fenced spa and undercover barbecue area with two sets of outdoor tables and chairs with umbrellas. This area also has a lovely calming water feature.
Each of the 10 Motel rooms are fully equipped with toaster kettle, microwave, bar fridge, cutlery and crockery. There are no facilities for dishwashing in the motel rooms. The camp kitchen is the best option for dishwashing and drying.
We are located 2 kilometres north of the town centre. There are 4 supermarkets, 4 petrol stations, a hospital, medical centres and many other shops and cafes.
Pets are most welcome at Golden Country Motel and Caravan Park. To ensure that you enjoy your stay with all of our other guests we must ask all pet owners to take full responsibility for their pet and ensure they do not disturb other guests when on the property.
Please read the following information below, to ensure you and your pet can make the following conditions:
Please provide proof of current vaccinations for your pet.
Please discuss bringing your pet at the time of making your booking. When in the park dogs must be kept on leash and under voice control at all times.
Under no circumstances are pets permitted in the camp kitchen, swimming pool area, jumping pillow area, laundry, TV room
We ask that you pick up any mess made by your pet.
No barking or yapping is allowed.
Pets are not permitted to be left unattended within the rooms or the park.
Any breaches of the above conditions may result in early departure and forfeit of refund.
You will receive a full refund if cancelling seven days or more prior to your check-in date. A $50 administration fee applies if cancelling two days prior to check in. There is no refund if cancelling in the 2 days prior to check in. No refunds for early departures.
When making a reservation, you will be required to pay the amount of the first night. You will then be required to pay the balance on arrival.
We have a simple to use portable cot for hire. We do not normally provide linen for the cot as every parent and child’s needs vary. We do however have linen for the cot for an emergency situation.
Please contact the Visitor Information Centre on 1800 356 511 for local tours and attractions. The Visitor Centre is located at the Maryborough Railway Station, 27 Station Street, Maryborough. They are open 7 days, 9am to 5pm every day except Good Friday and Christmas Day.
Each cabin and Villa has a kitchenette with facilities that include
cooktop, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, cutlery, crockery, glassware, pots, and pans.
Yes we have a type two charger for guests and public use. You need the Wallbox app to operate the charger. More EV charges are located at the Maryborough community hub.
Yes, we have a small playground suited for children up to around 10 years of age. There are other playgrounds in Maryborough. There is a large one at the community hub and a small one at the Princess Park barbecue area.
We have a fully equipped camp kitchen that seats up to 12 to 16 people. Facilities in the camp kitchen include microwave, full-size fridge and freezer, kettle, toaster, toasted sandwich maker, full size oven, cutlery, crockery, pots, pans and dishwashing facilities. The water in the camp kitchen is filtered, so please feel free to refill your water bottles here. You can call reception on 03 5461 1101 to retrieve the door code.
Yes, there is a 13 x 9 metre jumping pillow. Please ensure that your children are supervised and the jumping pillow rules are followed. There will be a large shade shelter constructed over the pillow in 2024.
We do not provide breakfast. There are many cafes and restaurants in the area and some of them open as early as 0730.
Visitors are most welcome. All visitors must leave the park quietly by 10 pm. Visitors vehicles are not permitted in the park. Visitors with mobility issues can ask at reception for special consideration of the “no visitors cars” rule and a car park area may be allocated if we can source a spare space. There is plenty of street parking.

Yes, we have a dump station. It is located within the park with clear signage. It is for guests’ use only. We do not allow the dumping of any refuse that includes wipes, flushable wipes, or baby wipes. None of these products disintegrate as commercially advertised. All of these products block the sewerage system.
